Paul Lawrence is an Iron Range singer-songwriter based in Virginia, Minnesota, whose original folk-country-blues blends hard-earned storytelling, soulful vocals, and a road-tested sense of rhythm. His songs move easily from intimate folk and country ballads to bluesy boot-stompers, delivered with the kind of warmth and grit that has carried him to stages from Minneapolis to Taipei. In recent years, Lawrence has performed at the Porcupine Mountain Music Festival, Homegrown Music Festival, Gibson Music Hall, Wussow’s Concert Cafe, the 331 Club, North Shore Winery, Al Lucken’s Music on the Porch series, and other notable rooms and festivals across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and beyond. His album Taiwan Winter was recorded at NeonBrown Studios in Crystal, Minnesota, and features a deep cast of Minnesota folk and Americana musicians, including Ryan Young of Trampled by Turtles. Whether appearing solo, as a duo, or with a full trio, Lawrence brings finely crafted lyrics, infectious energy, and a promise of original folk-country-blues magic.
