Roy Allen is a Minnesota-born singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in family, memory, resilience, and the healing power of a guitar. Raised on the edge of Plymouth, where suburbia met open countryside, Roy grew up surrounded by music, from family accordion players to the older sister who taught him guitar at age ten. Now 65, he brings a lifetime of stories to his Americana and folk-inspired songs, shaped by his love of rock ’n’ roll, blues, and the landscapes and people of Minnesota. After facing a cancer diagnosis, radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, Roy has returned to the stage with renewed purpose, sharing original songs that reflect his journey, his bluesy guitar style, and the hard-won joy of continuing to create.
